Using a Voter's Email Address
With Election Runner you have the option to add an email address for each of your voters. This provides you with an easy way of distributing voter IDs/Keys to your voters. When your election starts, they’ll receive an email with details on the election, the start/end time, their voter ID/Key, and a link that they can click which takes them directly to the election login page (see image for reference).
To take advantage of this feature, you must enable the setting on your election. Here’s how…
- Visit your election page
- Click “Settings”
- Click “Email”
- Toggle the switch to green for the field “Enable Email”
- Click “Save”
After enabling this setting, you will be able to add an email address for voters already in your election.
When your election starts, they will receive an email with the subject: “Your Invitation to Vote in the Election: %YOUR_ELECTION_NAME%“. The email “from” name will be the name of your organization. If your you have a logo set up in your Organization Settings page, the logo will show up at the top of all emails to voters.
Emails sent out to voters will be sent out in groups of 300 every minute. For example, if your election has 5,000 voters, it will take approximately 16 minutes for all emails to be sent.
